I love the al dente crunch of broccoli. This recipe gives you some sweetness from the honey, but then a kick of heat sneaks up on you. It someone tastes like it has a slight soy sauce flavor, but it doesn’t! I like anything spicy, especially veggies. Try this one out for your next super quick veggie side dish.

1 ½ tablespoon peanut oil

½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

3 garlic cloves (minced)

½ red onion (halved and sliced)

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 tablespoon honey

2-3 teaspoon red wine vinegar

1 large head of broccoli (cut into florets)

In a large skillet over low heat, add the oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes. Allow to cook for 3-5 minutes over the low heat.

Raise the heat to medium and add in the onions 1 minute before the broccoli florets. Toss in the chili powder, honey, and vinegar. Stir to combine. Cover, raise heat to medium-high, and cook for 3 minutes.

Stir and serve hot.

Enjoy!
