Salmon is such a delicious fish…and I’ve been on a mustard binge lately, so I thought I’d introduce everyone to my honey mustard salmon! My mom calls this recipes one of her favorite ways that I prepare salmon. I really love how the fish absorbs the flavors in the marinade. The mustard provides a slight tang while the honey makes it sweetly caramelized. I really like the bright yellow color of the yellow mustard, but add in whole grain mustard for the texture – the combo is so good! The fish stays soft and moist while the outside has the subtly sweet honey mustard glaze…mm, it’s really good.
2 tablespoons honey
1 ½ tablespoon yellow mustard
1 teaspoons whole grain mustard
4 teaspoons sugar
1 garlic clove
1.78 lb salmon (cut into 3-4 filets)
Put the salmon filets into a zip lock bag.
Mix together the honey, mustards, sugar, and garlic. Pour marinade into the bag with the salmon. Seal. Allow to marinate for 2-2.5 hours.
Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
Take the salmon out of the bag and place onto a nonstick baking sheet (skin side down). Spoon some of the extra marinade onto the salmon. Put into the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until almost your desired doneness. Switch to broiler and broil for 5 minutes.
Remove from oven, serve and enjoy!
