My first introduction to the delicious world of blackened goodness was through fish. Growing up I hated all kinds of seafood, but for some reason I didn’t mind it when covered in smoky and spicy blackened seasoning. This recipe is really easy to make, with only a few ingredients. You can use my delicious blackened seasoning mix or a store bought one…just make this recipe!

Usually you’ll see blackened fish recipes that tell you to cook the fish in a skillet….where they need to be flipped. Ugh. Since I hate flipping tilapia in a skillet, I just stick mine in the oven and let it be. After 12-15 mins later, you have a delicious, low hassle entrée!

4 tilapia filets

¼ cup butter (melted)

1+ tablespoon blackened seasoning

Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.

Dip each tilapia filet into the melted butter. Then rub both sides of the fish with your desired amount of blackened seasoning.

Place the fish onto a nonstick baking sheet and cook for 12-15 minutes, or until done.

Drizzle with a little extra butter (optional) and serve with some bread to sop up the blackened juices! Goes great with rice too!

Enjoy!
