Everyone likes hot chocolate on a cold day! It’s warm, decadent, and gives you a boost of energy to go back outside into the snow! My hot chocolate tastes like a liquid candy bar, but so smooth. So throw away those little powder packages from the box and try my recipe out! A little bit goes a long way…one sip and you’ll know why :)
1 2/3 cup milk (I use skim)
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
1/3 cup milk chocolate chips
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons Cinnamon Whipped Cream
Pour the milk into a small saucepan over medium-low heat. When the milk is warm (takes around 3-4 minutes over the heat), quickly whisk in the chocolate in stages. I like to whisk in a table spoon of chocolate at a time (doing it in stages will prevent the chocolate from burning on the bottom of the pan). Keep whisking so everything is completely smooth.
When all the chocolate has been whisked into the milk, remove from heat. Whisk in the vanilla.
Pour into a small mug and top with the cinnamon whipped cream. The aroma is fantastic! The whipped cream will start to melt immediately…don’t worry, it adds an amazing flavor to the chocolate!
Sip and enjoy!
