cinnamon date shakecinnamon date shakeI like the way this recipe sounds – “cinnamon date shake”. It’s cute, yeah?

Anyway, I have SO many dates leftover from the Moroccan Oatmeal Cookies I made a couple weeks ago. For some reason my dad feels the need to buy everything in bulk, so we kinda have enough dates in our pantry to last a year. Or two. Or five. Basically we have a ton so don’t be surprised if they show up in random recipes during the next couple months. Like this one! The cinnamon date shake, a shake so aromatic and tasty that you’ll knock the sock off your mama. It’s simple to make too.

All you need is a few dates, some milk, a bit of yogurt, and of course the cinnamon for that spicy warmth. The cinnamon compliments the flavor of the dates really well…I can’t believe I haven’t combined the two more often. Seriously, the combo is awesome. It gets very thick and smooth, so my recommendation is to either slurp it down with a straw or scoop it up with a spoon. Everyone at my house wanted to chug this right out of the blender haha.

Not sure what else to say other than try it! Have a happy Wednesday! :D

**I like to “garnish” it with an extra sprinkle of cinnamon for that little extra sumtin sumtin.**

1 1/2 cups milk

8 dates (pitted)

6 oz yogurt (vanilla or plain)

3/4 teaspoon cinnamon

1 tablespoon honey

10 ice cubes

In a small saucepan over low heat, add 1 cup of the milk with the dates. Steep for 10-15 minutes, or until the dates are plump and become very soft. Cool.

Add the dates/milk, remaining milk, and all the other ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth, about 2 minutes. Serve and enjoy!
