My mom loves to start her day with a fruit smoothie. It’s a healthy meal/snack that gets you energized while tasting great. She likes this smoothie with vanilla flavored soy milk, but I opt for regular milk and a dash of vanilla flavoring. Try this recipe out when you need a healthy kick!

1 ½ cup sliced strawberries

½ cup blueberries

½ cup raspberries (frozen)

¾ cup milk

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2-3 ice cubes

Large pinch of sliced almonds (optional)

Rinse and slice the strawberries. Add to the blender.

Rinse and also add the blueberries to the blender.

Add the remaining ingredients to the blender and blend until pureed and creamy, around 2 minutes. I start the blender on low, blend for a few seconds, and then increase the power to high.

Pour into a glass and garnish with fruit.
