We love popcorn at my house! It’s so easy to make, relatively healthy, and satisfies our crunch cravings. Since I love the flavors of Indian cooking, I thought I would add some to make spiced popcorn. A little bit smoky, slightly spicy, and highly addictive – it’s often a staple for us while watching movies, football, or a party snack!

3 tablespoons vegetable oil

½ cup popcorn kernels

1 teaspoon curry powder

1 teaspoon chili powder

½ teaspoon garlic powder

1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper

Salt to taste

In a large sauce pan, heat the oil over medium heat. Add the kernels and cover with the lid cracked open (to allow steam to escape). The popcorn will start popping in about 2-3 minutes. When the popping slows, remove the pan from heat and uncover. Pour the popcorn into a large mixing bowl.

Combine all the seasonings into a small bowl. Stir to combine. Sprinkle the seasoning over the warm popcorn. I like to pour half of the seasoning mixture, stir with a large spoon, and then pour the rest of the seasonings. Stir gently so all the popped corns are coated with the seasoning. Sprinkle with your desired amount of salt.

Serve and enjoy!
